Kirimaya Golf Resort Spa is a high-end nature retreat just 2 hours from Bangkok. It is the first boutique luxury resort in Khao Yai, the UNESCO World Heritage. Nestled at the edge of the revered Khao Yai National Park, the Kirimaya Experience includes the discovery of natures gifts wellness spas and the exhilarating challenge of a prestine championship golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. More urban chic than tropical rustic, the two-storey property and spa that extends across several outdoor and indoor pavilions merges the local with the exotic. Organic gardens provide all the ingredients for the Acala Restaurant, modelled on a traditional northern Thai rice barn. Open on three sides, it seems to float on the on-site lake and boasts a panoramic view across the resort’s challenging 18-hole golf course. The bamboo daybeds in the guestrooms are another example of the hotel’s successful combination of Asian touches and innovative design, but it’s the retreat’s four villa-tents that offer the epitome of luxury. With rugs created from water hyacinths and spaces that are sweetly separated by flowing curtains, these villa-tents are utterly intimate. Private patios and indoor spa pools only add to an atmosphere already rich with romance. The area around Khao Yai rises from 400 m to 1,351 m above sea level where temperatures are considerably lower than Bangkok. It can be especially cool during the winter months of November till February. Huge number of flowering trees and shrubs, in adition to wild orchids and other rare plants, bloom from December to May.
